Catching or arriving on the Shinkansen?

ESCA is the underground mall closest to the Shinkansen side of Nagoya Station. It has Nagoya-food restaurants — hitsumabushi, miso-nikomi udon and kishimen, miso katsu, chicken wings and Nagoya Cochin — and souvenir shops, and cafés open from 7:00, handy before an early Shinkansen (some shops differ).
